Ok, long story short, I got a set of KW V2s for my 2005. They came with the wrong helper springs. I finally recieved the new springs today.

What's the easiest way to disassemble the rear KW V2 coilover to swap the springs? Do I take the fork off the bottom, or the cap off the top?

Guess I'm on my own with this one... 30+ views, not a single reply. Sigh...

Will update with what I find out when I do take them apart.

Update if anyone was wondering....

I made some blocks with a 2 inch hole for my bench vise. I used the blocks and some scrap rubber tube to wrap the shock body and clamp it in the vise without scratching it up. It was held very tight in the blocks.

No luck however. I could not clamp it tight enough to keep it from rotating while trying to remove the fork off the bottom of the shock. I didn't want to clamp it any tighter as I am unwilling to *uck up a brand new set of shocks.

I'll be sending the rears back to KW for them to replace the springs.

Sigh...

You need a special tool to remove them on the V2's. I've sent them to KW a few times to change out the springs. They are fairly fast on adjusting and returning them
