An EVITE and an email were sent out on March 23rd to all VCA Ohio Region members. We have 24 signed up all ready. Only 16 open spots left! So get yourself signed up!

The Ohio VCA has been invited to tour the Viper Plant on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 9:30 AM and there is a limit of 40 VCA members!!! The tour is scheduled to start promptly at 9:30AM at the plant and continue until lunch. Lunch will be at the plant.

There are plans in the works for afternoon activities and dinner in the evening. The afternoon activities and dinner is not limited to the 40 people. The more club members we can get to attend the more fun we will have!

Host hotel: Accomodations have been arranged at Motor City Casino--Detroit, MI at a $139.00 + tax room rate~ Friday 5-07-2010. Reservations call 1-800-STAY-MCC and ask for the Viper Club room rate. Secured parking area for Vipers.

There are certain requirements for people to tour the plant:

No one under 12 years of age allowed. Strictly enforced.

No open toe/heel shoes allowed. Includes sandals, clogs, crocs, Stiletto heels or any heels over 2 inches high.

Please dress appropriately.

Safety glasses must be work at all time.

All guests must stay within the yellow tour route lines.

All participants MUST be able to walk unassisted. We cannot allow walking casts, canes, crutches, walkers, wheelchairs or motorized carts, on the plant floor, due to safety concerns.

Follow the instructions of the tour guide at all times.

Camera/photographs are allowed Some areas are restricted.

All participants MUST have FUN!!!!

Any room for out-of-towners? I wouldn't mind making the trip and possibly others from our local club (Ontario) might as well.

Edit: I called Bill this morning and was informed that the spots are open for Ohio VCA members only on a first come, first serve basis for now. If any spots are left open by some (currently unknown) date, others are welcome to come along.

Sorry for late reply...haven't been to site in awhile. We're leaving Thursday after lunch probably, get there before 6. Likely staying at Motor City Casino hotel, heading back after CAAP tour and lunch, home before dark. Are you going Thursday? Happy to meet you en route; perhaps join us for dinner?

CAAP Plant Tour Attendees:

The final attendee list has been sent to Janet at the plant.

Janey White our Secretary/Treasurer is sending out an email on Monday May 3rd to those going on the plant tour. That email will include maps/directions from the host hotel to CAAP, from CAAP to Buddy's Pizza, etc.

We will be meeting in the CAAP parking lot at 9am. Plant tour starts at 9:30am sharp!

Lunch will be at Buddy's Pizza near the WPC Museum. The Ohio club is picking up the check for lunch.

Dick Winkles from SRT will be speaking to our group at the WPC Museum. He may be able to join us at the plant and for lunch. Just depends on his schedule. Mr. Winkles was able to get us a group discount of $4 a person for the WPC Museum

Dinner plans have been made at Slow's BBQ for 6:30. It is close to our host hotel MotorCity Casino and Resort. Terry Bosserman's son says the BBQ is great. Dinner is on your own.

Sam Goldfarb is making a couple of banners for the occassion. One will be left at the plant and one will be available for auction.

Sam is also making a banner that we will autograph and send to our Ohio VCA member Wes Boutros who is stationed in Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne. We want to show Wes and his men and women how much Wes' Viper friends appreciate their service to our country.

Can't wait!!!!!!!! This would be like reliving my 1st trip to conner back in '96. My dad took me to buddys pizza. Really good stuff. We had a whole pie at buddys then took another back to the hotel.

I hear all the Vipers in the racing display are shown in Viper RED. As it should be.
