engine replacement?

i have a 2004 srt10 with 50,000 miles.
there's a gen 4 engine with 1700 miles available. includes tranny, computer, all engine accessories, and oil cooler.
asking price is $16,500.
what do you think?

Honestly, for $16,500 You build a NICE Gen III. Either keep it all N/A or build the engine right and then know that later than you could add a ton of boost and make serious power.

Agreed. For that kind of $$ you could build up your current motor to GEN IV specs and probably save yourself a lot of hassle.

installing a gen4 engine is not so easy. ask dan at viper specialty

The money could be better spent making sure that the engine tolerances are tight while adding NA horsepower.

How will you be using the car? Track? Street only? Purpose matters.
