Gen 3 compared to a Gen 4 rear end for auto cross

I would like to some autocross with the Viper this summer. I have a 03 and have heard that the rear ends on the gen 4 are set up better for that kind of driving. I has something to do with the transfer of the power durning turns. Can someone explain the details if this is true?
