Service Bullets, Build Date and More Questions!

Couple noob questions I need help with.

1. How do you determine vehicle build date?

2. Regarding the 1997 high idle service bulletin (below), were most 97's effected by this? I'm assuming its pretty easy to spot using typical techniques to find intake leaks?

3. I heard the cam was changed in 1998 to a milder version to smooth out the idle and reduce emissions. True?

4. Is there a guide or table somewhere on the internet that lists the series of changes or new options for the GTS?

Hey dude,

To answer the question about build date, it should be on the door jamb.

As for differences between the years:
Differences Between Model Years:
1996 (Stripes through license plate area, cast-alum. wheels)
1997 (airbag label, forged alum wheels, no license plate stripes)
1998 (airbag switch,1piece window trim, toggle switches, dash texture added, alarm cutoff switch)
1999 (Power mirrors ,cloth visors, satin interior trim, remote hatch release,18”rims)
2000 (Alum. pistons, milder cam, revised high leakdown lifters)
2001/2002 (ABS/Final Edition)
