how to fix this nick in the door panel?

hey, I was wondering if anyone else has had something like this and how have you fixed this?

I would take it to a good upholstery shop, a place that repairs auto tops is a good bet.

No way - at least try a local interior shop. They may be able to dye the area and come up something. Or they may want to cover the top part of the door panel with a 'leatherette' material that is close to the rest of the door panel. Should be less than $100. Alternative is what sly said. Paul Sharf can get you a nice used door panel for less than $400.

Just a few ideas off the top of my head.

Really???, you have any idea why they're not sold in stores??? To the OP don't buy that crap cause it'll just cost you that much more to fix this problem. However I've had similar repairs done to other cars and what they will do is re-skin that part and it will be as good as new, as others said take it to an upholstery shop, it's an easy repair, don't sweat it...

Use a black sharpie on it until you can have it professionally repaired. This will at least keep the white nick from being a complete eye soar

In Holland we have a specialist leather repair shop that sells DIY stuff and also gives out personal advice, I can not imagine that there is no equivalent of it in the U.S. Their instructional videos can be found on Youtube. Had a dealer damage my 98 like that and put a screw driver throught the seat bolster. Had a professional leather care guy fix in and couldn't tell. They put a filler in and texture it with the same grain like texture tool. Them they spray / dye it with a small air brush.
Looked great all for about 150.00.

This, I just had almost the same thing happen to me after getting some interior work done (how it happened, I'll never know) but thats what I did was use a black sharpie & you're the ONLY one that will ever know (it covers it up very well). jmo

I just bought this exact repair kit at Walmart. My door panel has the same issue in the same location only smaller. I've not had a chance to try the repair yet however when I do I will try to post some pics.
