Yeah, that doesn't look right Mark. The gearing on the Gen I is the same on the Gen II. Should be:

1st-------58MPH
2nd------76MPH
3rd-------114MPH
4th-------151MPH
5th-------204MPH
6th-------302MPH

Well I don't know then and don't remember driving one, but what I found is that in 96' the gears changed and moved to this from what I found for the 92's

96'
(max speed on gears,

top gear value theor.):
(km/h/mph)
I:
88 / 55
II:
131 / 81
III:
179 / 111
IV:
233 / 145
V:
315 / 196
VI:
466 / 290

So how knows for sure?

302 MPH!!!!!!! WOW!!! They REALLY slowed down the following generations! ;)

Even Mark's 250+ in sixth!? I must be reading this wrong.

All it takes is HP. Most Gen I cars are drag limited to 180-185 in 5th. All Gen I/IIs have 3.07 and using 6200 rev limit, the numbers I posted above are pretty close.

My Gen II with stock gears and stock wheels and PS2 tires does 118 in 3rd in a 1/4 mile pass and just bumps the rev limiter. At least that is what the time slips show.

Yes, you are reading it wrong. Those are theoretical numbers based on tire size, gear ratio and max engine RPM. HP, drag and friction are not in the equations.
