I got a 1993 viper and my owners manual says the battery is located under the spare tire and jack. Also states to remove the bolts and then open the cover. I can see no screws and their is no acces panel. I am going to mid ohio tomorrow and they want to inspect the battery. Any ideas.

Never mind. It looks like mine is behind the driver rear tire. Must have an older owners manual.

On a 92 and early 93, the battery is found via the trunk...on late 93 through 2002, it is found after one removes the left rear tire, back one third of splash guard, and remove battery cover.

Great write-up on this (as well as how to service ) in the Illustrated Upgrade Section.

By the way, IF you have reason to disconnect the battery, you MAY be in for a bad surprise...as the car may not start (even with your key and working key fob handy). There are ways to protect from this and ways to "undo" the consequences if you have trouble...the latter of which will NOT be posted here. Call if you encounter this issue.
