Based on the last rebates, how does the rebate deal work, and what's the bottom line on prices, assuming this is not an April Fool's joke?:D

We may never know the precise details. Last time it was the dealers that were given trunk money on cars sold by a certain date. Public never informed on the details.

The dealer could reduce their prices to move the cars off their lots, keep the cash as additional profit, or anything in between.

Some got pretty good deals, but the offer came and went without anyone except the dealer owners knowing how much money was available.

All the desirable cars were scooped up pretty quickly, and even some unpopular colors were able to be moved off the lots and into customer garages

Best to establish a good relationship with your friendly local SRT dealer. When your sales rep gets the word, you want to be on his speed dial.

Was it after you talked to the guy that designed the Ford GT?
I just happened to stroll into Raceway Park in Englishtown NJ during a prototype testing session (they let anybody into those things ).Before i strolled in i happened to call the president of the VCA (Joe Houss )to tell him he was invited to stroll in as well All this happened before you ever knew what a Viper was. Buy the way the person you refered to (designed the FGT )didnt design the FHT as he was the head of Ford Svt his name was-is Jonn Coletti .

Talked to one of the major viper dealers......not happening.
Iam glad that dealer is sure as the second largest V[per dealer in history was not informed of anything before hand in 09 the last time it happened .Realistictically do you think a dealer is going to inform a customer to WAIT for a coupon -rebate instead of doing a deal today

Was that "reliable " source one of the Reliable transport drivers ?? I can't see how and why the factory would give out a rebate now, the cars are paid for from the dealers, the real problem is the next wave of cars will be slow to be bought by the individual dealers that can't afford these cars sitting for a year on their showroom floor ! This is starting to make 4 or 5 dealers in the country ONLY willing to sell the Viper...such as Tomball etc....the mom/pop dealers will not want to gamble on a $125,000 taking up their floorplan and headaches to sell when they would rather put 4 mini vans there instead....MY $.02

I just saw a loaded Red 13' GTS sell on Ebay for $10 short, of $39,000 OFF SITCKER... (137,490 sticker, sold at 98,500)!!!!! And in the fine print, it said "all factory rebates included". Just a discalimer? Or something more?

can someone chime in? How are these dealers pricing cars like this? That has to be a $20k N loss (above and beyond NNN)

GOOD. The mom and pop dealers are the ones trying to put 20K market adjustment add-ons to the price who needs them.

I am pretty sure they are selling it at a loss. There are no incentives currently. Invoice on that has to be high 120s. holdback 3%.

I got offered a 13 GTS with 142K or so MSRP at 104K so its definitely happening.

There are no 85K SRT like have been posted here in the 13's, or least in my searches for one without stripes and minimal options I have yet to come across one.

A member on here, purchased an SRT TP car for 88k.. Was brand new with 2 miles on it, but had been titled. Which also leads one to believe there is some "trunk money" on the table.

It might not be a bad thing if there were only a limited number of dealers who sell the Viper. The initial strategy of creating silk purses out of any pig's ear dealer willing to fork over 25K and have a tech trained did not work.

SRT and Chrysler cannot alter existing franchise obligations but if the "pigs ear" dealers remain gun shy and do not buy the car, a reduction in the number of dealers handling the sale of the car might happen by itself.

Assuming the remaining dealers ordered and sold enough Vipers to make the continuing production of the car viable, wouldn't we all like that?

You have spprox 900 cars (siome )13s sitting on floorplan with the dealers complaining to their zone reps that they have to move them at big loses (WAY UNDER TRIPPLE NET )The dealers aer going to hold back ordering future Dodge products unless Chrysler does something for them .Regarding a 2015 what dealer would order a 2015 when theres no money in selling the model As you put it would a dealer want to take a loss on Viper floorplan when for the identical cost he can have 4 Jeep Grand Cherokee on hand and make money on the sale

I am glad those dealers learned a very expensive lesson.

Thx Taxi, that was me. I do have the title in my hand from the original Dodge Dealer in NJ that wholesaled the car to the company I purchased it from and I have called and spoken with SRT. I am listed as the first/original owner :) I just need to pick my vanity plate and head to the Secretary of State for my plate. I like these two which are both available: TRAKPAK or TRAKPKG...

One problem is as the selling force shrinks (number of dealers even ordering a car) it can open up another problem...how do you find a local Viper tech to help and/or get any warranty work performed ??????? Hard to ship your car to Woodhouse or Tomball for warranty work ( nothing meant against these dealers and I was only using as an example) I think that maybe the Viper could become how Porsche solved their dealer problems a few years ago....they give a dealer a car or two, the dealer cannot put more than about 30 or so miles on the car OR the dealer now owns it ( keeps the dealer staff from joy-driving) , then periodically, they send a truck around and move the vehicles from one dealership to another, that way a dealer had a green one for 3 months or so, then over night a red one arrives at the dealership and the green goes to a different dealership OR someone hears about the green and it is shipped to a customer, also they know how to play the time of year, hard to sell a porsche in North Dakota in January, while in South Florida they are selling....the factory controls the costs this way and the dealerhip is a partner rather than an independent business !! Also this would minimize the "dreaded supplemental stickers for paint protectr. pin stripe and undercoating as well as dealer payment of $15k to $25K ???!! The only problem with ALL my premise is, can the dealers do this with their legal documents with the parent company, Chrysler ?? My $.02
