Opening trunk in 2016 viper

Seems the only way I can open my trunk is to hit the remote twice which unlocks the trunk then I have to use the key in the remote to open the trunk.
Is there a way to open the trunk without using the key in the remote?

I hit the remote twice and it pops open,don't use the key. Mines a 2017

It helps to be lifting trunk/hatch when pushing the button. I would suggest using only gentle pressure on the trunk release button since hard pressure from frustration can dislodge said button.

Resurrecting old thread. My lights flash when I press the trunk clicker button, use the key, or press the button on my 13’. The actuator no longer makes any sound.
The shop everyone recommends in my area did a lot of testing and recommends replacing the trunk latch assembly (which I brought with me) and the Body Control Module. I’m just going to start with the trunk latch assembly and see where that takes me. Oh yeah, and apparently they need to remove the bumper and fascia to get to it…
