Michelin Recalls Pilot Sport Tires
POSTED: 10:41 am EST December 29, 2005 UPDATED: 11:03 am EST December 29, 2005 GREENVILLE, S.C. -- A problem with quality standards is prompting Michelin North America to recall about 6,500 tires in its Pilot Sport line. The tire maker said it decided on the recall after its internal quality control system showed that the tires don't meet company quality standards. Most of the recalled tires were distributed in the U.S., with fewer than 400 distributed in Canada. The specific tires affected are the Michelin Pilot Sport 255/35-Z-R-20-97-Y extra load. They were fitted as original equipment on some Jaguar vehicles and were also sold in the replacement market. Michelin said the defective tires have a blister on their sidewall, which can cause them to vibrate and lose air pressure rapidly. |

Michelin Pilot Sport 255/35-Z-R-20-97-Y
Seems small for a Viper, so doubtful anyone would have them installed on a Viper. |

This is about as far from the beaten track as you could put this story! Unless the forum has a Welcome mat, maybe the story would fit under there.
Anyway, as said above, it looks like a non-issue for Viper owners, so the point is moot. |
