Clear Coat on OEM 2001 Wheels
Does anyone know how to remove the clear coating on (2001 OEM) wheels? The clear coat on my wheels is not in good shape, (chipping, cracked). I thought if I could remove the clear coat I could just polish the aluminum to a nice shine.

Thanks for the link JiPi!
Also, I was talking to a friend after I posted this and he thought I could check into "bead blasting" the clear coat off (plastic pellets). Any one heard of that? In the meantime I'll be looking for the products mentioned in the link you sent me! Once again thank you! |

plastic media blasting will definitely get the clear coat off. It will also mar the finish to some extent. Not like sand blasting or glass beading, but it will not be ready to polish though either.
