96 GTS wheels clear coated?

Are 96 GTS wheels clear coated? They are duller than the 97 and 98. I am wondering if using an abrasive aluminum polish will brighten them or scratch the clear if they are clear coated.

Yes, clear coated. There is a difference between the years. '98 were the strongest and brightest of those 3 years.

DO NOT USE METAL POLISHES on any year Viper wheel.

No Viper wheel has ever been bare metal or even CHROME, despite what the salesman tell you. All have clear-coat paint, just like the bodywork.

MANY MANY 99-2002 owners were told they had chrome wheels, and used metal polishes, resulting in MILKY WHEEL SYNDROME. The same can happen 96-98 and 03-06.

USE A GOOD CLEANER-WAX.

Or, strip-n-polish the wheels if you want, but the cast 96 wheels will NEVER be a mirror polish
