I dyno'd my stock '01 RT/10 at 407.4 SAE RWHP on Monday of this week. On Wednesday I swapped the stock snorkels for a pair of Hennessey smooth tubes, and the stock air filters for a pair of K&N's (also supplied by Hennessey). Friday afternoon the RT went back on the dyno, with the following result:
![]() Sure enough, picked up 7.6 peak RWHP, and a couple percentage points of torque across the entire powerband. It's nice when things work as advertised ![]() Unrelated question -- do people generally dyno with the hood open or closed? I tried dynoing with the hood open, but due (I assume) to a low pressure zone behind the hood with the fan running, I actually lost a couple HP from my previous runs. Closing the hood and pointing the fan at the front of the car (both radiator and intake NACA duct) produced the desired results. |
